Kiteboarding Lessons
If you are coming to the Island as a young couple, you are thrill seeker, or you have teens that are going to get board fairly quickly with the younger kids, consider getting a kiteboarding lesson with us. Kiteboarding is one of the fastest growing watersports in the USA. The freedom of jumping 10, 20, 30ft off the water, without the necessity of a wave for a ramp, means that people can go home to a lake and still fly through the air.
Be aware – there is a HUGE difference in kiteboard operators on the Island – you don’t need to be licensed, and the sport can be dangerous without proper guided instruction. We only use THE very best instruction team on South Padre.
Instruction includes the use of a trainer kite, radio helmet (instructors can clearly give you remote directions) and of course all training and the board itself. This is an AMAZING, green/earth friendly sport that is very addictive. While the lessons are quite expensive – remember, once you dial this sport in, for under $1500 you’ll never need a boat, gas, or anything – that’s what the gear costs – and anywhere with wind and water you can kiteboard.
