South Padre Wedding Packages would be more than happy to set your wedding up with the environment in mind. Anything from using organic foods & drink to offsetting carbon emissions for your wedding party & guests – we are here to help, and are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint as we live on a barrier island just 3 feet above sea level.
Does having an eco-friendly wedding make you a tree hugger? No, it does not. It probably makes you an educated, caring person. Will your Dad make fun of you? Who cares – this is your day, not his, and your children & his grandchildren will have to live with the decisions of today tomorrow.
The President of our Company personally has a hand in all Green Weddings we plan – he is 100% dedicated to making your wedding even that much nicer being eco-conscious than if not.
Many of the ala carte items you see below take more careful planning rather than increasing your wedding budget. What is funny about treating Mother Earth right is it really doesn’t have to cost more, it just takes a tad more time & thoughtfulness.
We offer the following eco-wedding add-ons on an ala carte basis – the price ranges per guest are in addition to what you’d normally expect to pay, and are indicated after each description:
- Assistance with the location & selection of recycled precious metals for wedding rings & NON-Blood Diamonds
10-25% increase in price
- Use of recycled materials for invitations & all party favors
Increased cost of 10% or less J
- Wedding Rehersal dinners and/or wedding receptions with organic food & drink service
Organic fish, chicken, & beef for dinner? Yes! Organic wine & beer? Absolutely! Wedding Cakes free of processed sugars & flours? Done!
$10-$50 pp
- Assistance planning gift registration to avoid receiving things you don’t need; setting up of a selected eco-charity for gift donations instead of individual gifts
(zero increase in price)
- Offset of all carbon emissions generated for travel to South Padre Island by wedding party and/or guests through our membership with the Sustainable Travel International association
$10-$35 pp
- Wedding dress made of organic, eco-friendly material
(generally cost less than normal wedding dresses as they are a bit more simple)
- Eco-friendly housing choices (particularly good for those with severe allergies)
Generally in the Luxury Accommodations category
- Donation of food from reception so nothing goes to waste. Use of linens in lieu of paper products at reception

- Use of local floral providers that are low pesticide use
(zero increase in price)
- Eco-friendly resort choice for your honeymoon even if not on South Padre Island. Our parent Company South Padre Trips.com will gladly set this up.
